I bumped up my first “Media Free” day today, and it’s been quite time. It’s all in the interest of wasting less time.
The rules are simple: No video, no surfing, no iPod (except while driving). It’s ok to take a quick look at email, or use technology for work.
This means no blog reading (apparently writing is ok), no news sites, no podcasts. I DID actually read the Sunday paper. I actually played a CD. I read some. I spent quality time with my parents. I even had time to rescue a kitty cat!
Ok, maybe “rescue” is a bit strong, but I helped him get down from the garage roof safely. Anyway, the experiment was such a success that I’m toying with the idea of having 2-3 media-free days each week. What do you think?
