I miss my old bike…

and yet I love my new bike so much more! I guess it’s because I make a lot of memories on the old bike, but the improvements on the new bike are enough that I know I wouldn’t enjoy riding the old one as much anyway. It sure was cool to be able to tell people that I had a carbon-fiber frame, though. But the 26″ wheels and rim bakes sure make it look dated now.

I Love My Bike!

After a few great rides all I can say is that this bike rocks! The 29″ wheels are such an improvement rolling over roots and big bumps and the larger wheelbase handles tight turns surprisingly well. The bike is over 6′ long! It looks huge, but I’m over 6′, too, so it really feels like it’s the right size. Maybe the best part is the 1-finger stops afforded by the hydraulic disc brakes! Of course the suspension improves the handling and the comfort, and the on-the-fly adjustments have proven to be very useful.┬áThe pedals, grips, computer, bell and cargo bag are all carry-overs from my previous bike(s). It’s always sad to see an old bike go, but I’m so in love with this one that there’s really no pain, just good memories. čÖé Here is a picture of the bike on my┬ánew hitch┬árack. The trunk rack that I’ve had for 20 years was due for a replacement and I really love how quickly bikes can be loaded, AND locked, on this rack from Performance.
